PASAR Moden Sri Muda traders in Shah Alam were penalised for not complying with hygiene and licence regulations during a joint operation.

Five compounds were issued for failure to display price tags, labels of goods or business licence, as well as for trading at non-designated places.

Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) Corporate and Public Relations Division head Shahrin Ahmad, in a statement, said the joint operation was coordinated by MBSA’s Internal Audit Section and included officers from its licensing, environmental health and enforcement departments.

Also present were representatives of the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry’s Shah Alam branch and MBSA councillors.

MBSA reminded market traders and visitors to comply with the standard operating procedure set for the movement control order as well as the council’s rules and conditions.

The RM28mil Pasar Moden Sri Muda located in Section 25 was completed in December 2020.

The multistorey building has 217 trading lots, including dedicated wet and dry sections, three levels of parking spaces as well as facilities such as surau, toilets and CCTV.
