JERUSALEM: Israel Saturday evening was set to resume burying victims of a stampede that killed at least 45 people at a Jewish pilgrimage site, one of the nation’s worst peacetime disasters.
Some funerals had already taken place on Friday, just hours after the overnight disaster, while local media reported others, including that of a 13-year-old, were scheduled to take place Saturday evening at the end of the Sabbath, the Jewish day of rest.
