Primark is becoming even more of a one-stop-shop now that its homeware range is expanding to include furniture items.

The pieces are right on trend too, promising to be both ‘statement and functional’. There are even rattan pieces.

The range will begin with a capsule of 18 furniture items, such as chairs, sideboards, shelving units and side tables.

There will also be a mix of homeware accessories to complete the room, such as mirrors, rugs, wall art, lights and shades.

Prices range from £25 to £90, making it unlikely to dent your savings in the same way other furniture shopping would.

Their rattan lounge chair is the priciest of the lot, though is still considerably cheaper than other rattan offerings given the trendiness of the style right now.

The matching sideboard is just £60 and will fashionably sit in any home space, with its double door opening.

Then there’s the glass topped side table, which, also £90, would be perfect for setting a cup of tea down while parked up on the sofa.

Given all the rattan items, there are enough pieces to get a bit of a theme going in one room.

But it’s not just rattan on offer, though these are undeniably the standout designs.

Primark Home’s trading director Paul Baldwin says the new offering has come as a result of the heightened interest people now have for their homes, owing to three national lockdowns and more time spent indoors.

‘There has been exceptional growth within our home and lifestyle department over the past 18 months as people have spent more time in their home.

‘Naturally we wanted to keep up with this growing customer demand and expand our offering into small furniture and several other new categories,’ he says.

The collection will launch in October, rolling out to selected stores.
