On June 27, fans of actress Mariska Hargitay will be able to press play and see a whole new side of her andher family in her documentary, My Mom Jayne. The movie follows the Law & Order: SVU star as she finally uncovers her family secrets and faces her fears to learn more about her mom, the late actress and sex symbol Jayne Mansfield.

“I’ve been working on this story my entire life,” Hargitay told W Magazine of the project. “What I learned, and what I had hoped, is that this is a universal film. We all have complications in our families—stories hidden in the closet or things left unsaid.”

In addition to learning more about Mansfield, who tragically died in a car crash in 1967 when she was just 34 years old, viewers will also get to know Hargitay’s siblings and their close bond with one another. Hargitay has five siblings: brothers Mickey Jr., Zoltán and Tony, and sisters Tina and Jayne Marie.
