Japanese value quality and hence their stuff aren't always afforadable. Respect is also ingrained in their culture. That being said, I'm sure therd be treasure finds in their thrift shops. In SG, some folk have the audacity to place well-worn or broken lingerie, shoes, clothes....etc in those donation bins.
