100m underground pedestrian link between City Hall MRT Station and Funan mall to open soon

SINGAPORE An underground pedestrian link between City Hall MRT Station and Funan mall will open sometime this month, real estate group CapitaLand said on Monday (Dec 20) without specifying the exact date.The 100m link under North Bridge Road will connect the basement level two of Funan mall directly with the MRT station. This will improve the buildings connectivity for both shoppers and working executives to various destinations in Singapores Civic District, including Raffles City Shopping Centre and Saint Andrews Cathedral, CapitaLand said in its press release.The premises of Funan mall, which also comprise office towers and a serviced apartment, is owned by CapitaLand.The building of the underground link was first announced in 2017. The Straits Times reported then that the linkway would also extend to The Adelphi, a shopping centre opposite Funan, with provisions for future connections to neighbouring buildings such as Peninsula Plaza and St Andrews Cathedral. TODAY has asked CapitaLand for the opening date of the pedestrian link and if they will link to other buildings around Funan.In its press release, CapitaLand said that Funan will host Singapore Art Week from Jan 14 to Feb 13 next year, with artworks to be showcased along the pedestrian link as well.
