It works just like the macOS Quick Look feature you can hit enter to open the file in its default app or choose a different app. It works well for most file types that youd want to preview, but GIFs might take an extra few seconds to load. Windows 11 users shouldnt really need to resort to third-party apps just to bring back basic taskbar functionality that has existed in Windows for decades, but until Microsoft addresses this area, Start11 certainly helps. Its part of the Dolby Access app and will set you back $14.99 for the license, but if youre a gamer who wants to hear all the footsteps of your enemies, then its well worth it. The license also extends to an Xbox, so if you have an Xbox One or Xbox Series X / S, youll get full Dolby Atmos support there, too. Theres even a 30-day trial, so you can try Dolby Atmos for Headphones and see if it sounds better than Microsofts built-in Windows Sonic spatial sound option.Dolby Atmos for Headphones is part of the Dolby Access app and will let you hear all the footsteps of enemies in games. VLC for WindowsVLC for WindowsImage: VideoLanThanks to streaming services, it feels increasingly rare to play local audio or video content on PCs these days, but VLC does it all without any fuss. Its a free app that supports a variety of codecs, so it should play anything you throw at it.
