112 foreigners denied entry at KLIA

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 112 people from Bangladesh, Pakistan and India were denied entry into the country yesterday after the Malaysian Border Control Agency found that they did not comply with Immigration requirements.
The foreigners had landed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and remained at the terminal for more than six hours without going to the Immigration counter for inspection.
The Malaysian Border Control Agency said its KLIA Monitoring Unit screened 300 people from various countries during a routine operation.
"Checks found that some people who had landed avoided proceeding to Immigration counters.

"Their actions raised suspicion about the true purpose of their visit to Malaysia, prompting authorities to detain them."
The 112 individuals were taken to the KLIA Monitoring Unit's office for investigation and screening before refusal of entry notices were issued.
The agency did not elaborate on the violations the individuals committed.
It said monitoring and enforcement would be intensified to ensure the security of entry points and to protect Malaysia's border sovereignty.
