2019 has been a pretty good year to be a senior citizen in Singapore. Not only is there a shiny new Merdeka Generation package from the government, it seems like private businesses are also trying to woo the 55+ crowd.

Cue all kinds of gimmicky discounts like free durian buffets, $0.54 chicken rice and the ill-fated $54 Huawei phones.
