23yo Man Killed After His Motorcycle Skidded & Fell Off Elevated Highway in Shah Alam

A man lost his life after the motorcycle he was riding is believed to have skidded and fallen from a flyover at a height of 21 metres at exit 1/B 0.5 of the Dash Highway in Shah Alam.

Shah Alam District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, said investigations found that the incident occurred at about 4.45 PM last Thursday (July 24), when the Yamaha YZF-R15 motorcycle being ridden by the victim from Persiaran Mokhtar Dahari via Exit 1/B 0.5 of the Dash Highway was believed to have lost control while going around a bend, skidding and hitting a flyover divider.

“The impact of the accident caused the victim to fall down the flyover at a height of approximately 21 metres onto a grassy area on Persiaran Pulau Angsa.

“The victim was seriously injured in the head and legs and was confirmed dead at the scene.”

According to Iqbal, investigations also found that at the time of the incident, the 23-year-old victim, who works at a private company, was travelling from his home in Kampung Melayu Subang to a motorcycle service workshop in Kuala Lumpur, reported Sinar Harian.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987, and Iqbal urged the public who has information about the accident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
