I can be connected to YouTube on my laptop and leave the room, close the door, walk through my kitchen to the bathroom, and close THAT door with no interruption. Same for outside; my room is in the very back of the house, but I can make it to my gate (four or five car lengths, with two doors closed between me and the laptop) without it breaking up. The battery lasts me about three to five days of pretty heavy use, more for average use. There are three settings: noise cancelling on, noise cancelling off, and be aware. The Be Aware setting is almost louder than if you took the headphones off — you can hear everything around you. Noise cancelling is pretty good, doesn't completely mute all other things, but if you're listening to music too, you should be able to ignore a lot.
