1. A Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes Musical Toy to entertain your fussy babe with catchy melodies by the likes of Mozart, Vivaldi, and others, as well as exciting and twinkling lights. Maybe they'll absorb so much of the music they'll grow up to be a world-renowned composer — you never know!

www.amazon.com, Amazon

My son received this as a gift around the holidays in 2022 and it's, surprisingly, fantastic! It's really a simple toy, but he enjoys playing with it *all* the time. He loves the sounds and the lights while I personally like that it's not HUGE (so many musical toys are very bulky). It's been a great toy option for the car thanks to its size.

Promising review: "The best baby distractor EVER! Every person with a child must have this toy! I had about five tucked in various places in case one got lost. My son loved them from basically birth, and sometimes it would distract him for hours of not crying! (Heaven for a new mother.) Of course, in the beginning you have to keep pushing the button for them, but compared to swinging him in his car seat that was easy! Then when he got older, he would spend entire car rides just playing with this one toy. I give it to everyone I know who has a baby." —NH-Mommy

2. Or the iconic Fisher Price coffee mug (which looks very similar to the emotional support cup you're likely carrying around on your outings) you can toss 'em while they coo and giggle in the stroller or car seat. It plays a variety of engaging sounds, rattles, and lights up just enough to not be distracting, but keep your tyke happy.

Heather Braga / BuzzFeed, www.amazon.com

This is my go-to on-the-go toy for my daughter! I keep it in the car and she happily presses the button while hanging out in her car seat. I recently brought it to my sister-in-law's baby shower (pictured above, left) to keep her content since she couldn't scoot around freely. It's not an irritating toy (much appreciated) and looks absolutely hilarious in photos.

Promising review: "Love the songs and lights on this toy. Small enough to travel with and keeps my baby entertained. It’s super cute and inexpensive." —Lien

3. A travel bottle warmer that'll keep your baby's brew hot for HOURS and without having to be plugged in. (Wow!) It'll work with bottles of all sizes and ensure you're ready to roll when your kiddo starts screaming in *~hangry~*.

Amazon, www.amazon.com

Promising review: "EXCELLENT travel bottle warmer!!!! We love this warmer and use it almost every single time we leave the house!!! The water stays hot for hours!! The longest we have done is about 6–8 hours and each time, it is still piping hot and steaming when I pour it and it heats my daughter's bottle up easily in just a few minutes! Seriously, 5 stars!"—ELMA16

4. A car seat buckle release tool to save both your nails and your precious time! No one wants to struggle to open those (thankfully) extremely secure buckles while their kiddo is hitting a pitch that could likely break glass.

Chandni Reddy / Buzzfeed, www.amazon.com

Reviewers have also attached it to their little one's cribs and car seats for extra airflow. I personally used one on my stroller during my son's first summer (he was about three months old at the time) and bought a second one when my daughter was born. Now, both kids enjoy a nice lil' breeze when we walk in warmer weather.

Promising review: "This little fan has changed my life! I bought this for Disney, and now I use it all the time. I had gotten this fan for the stroller and four little handheld fans. If I had the space, I would have bought four of these. It is lightweight, easily attached, has flexible legs, a powerful fan, and Bluetooth, too! I set it up as a phone stand for the kids while they waited for food, cooled everyone off all day, and charged it at the end of the day. We used it off and on daily, not continuously. Now I use it in my girls' room when it’s stuffy and set a timer if needed. It has speed controls, too. It’s a great product 100% recommend to every parent or anyone needing a portable fan." —Robert

Heather Braga / BuzzFeed

Since the birth of my son in 2022, I have been on the hunt for a baby carrier I love. It took me two years to find one that finally fit the bill! This one from BabyBjörn is pricey but has all the features I was looking for in a carrier. Many of the other brands I tried were SO difficult to figure out — how should the straps go? How do I get the baby in? How do I get the baby OUT?! The Harmony simplified all of those concerns with its easy-to-use clasp system. I could buckle my daughter in on my own, allowing me to go on more outings alone with her and my toddler. My neighbors definitely all had a glimpse of me wearing my daughter while pushing my son on his trike at the same time. (I am EXHAUSTED, to say the least.)

Additionally, the material is very lightweight, whereas other brands I've tried left me and my tot feeling hot and sweaty. I used this one throughout the entire summer, and while I was, of course, warmer from having a baby strapped to me, I wasn't overtly dying of heat. It was also designed with padded shoulder straps and a pressure-relieving waist belt, which was MUCH appreciated. When your tyke inevitably spits up all over it, you can just toss it in the wash! Truly love this product.

9. And a hip seat sling that'll be a must-buy for your back if you've got a Stage 5 clinger on your hands (siiiiigh) but don't want to let that stop you from getting outdoors.

Mallory Mower / BuzzFeed

BuzzFeed writer Mallory Mower tested this bad boy out. She said, "I went to the aquarium with my daughter over the weekend and brought this to test out before an upcoming Disney trip. I carried her in this while going up and down flights of stairs to catch the subway, and then throughout our time at the aquarium. It's fantastic for solo parenting trips, where a regular carrier can take ages to pop a kid in and out of during activities where they'd occasionally like to run around. This is sturdy, has pockets big enough for small snacks/keys/etc., and my toddler actually fell asleep while I was carrying her in it (she clearly felt secure). It's as lightweight as a fanny pack and comfortable to just wear when your child isn't using it. This is a really, really useful carrying option."

Promising review: "I was looking for a carrier for my daughter to stand in those long Disney lines. I tried two other strap carriers and THIS was the best one! It's soft, easy, and comfy! The shoulder has a good cushion, and I love that it has the mesh middle to give coverage, so the weight is better distributed! It folds up nicely and has a cute storage bag (I don't think it will be put away often, but nice to have!). Plus, my little one LOVES it! I'm excited to use it and save my arms everywhere we go! You'll still want to use an arm to make sure your little doesn't do a back-up as kids are prone to do...but the seat has grippies to help their bum stay put — genius! I'm really excited to have finally found a great carrier!!!" —Kiah

Get it from Amazon for $29.99 (available in five colors).

10. Or a 3-in-1 baby carrier with a hip seat to combine the magic of a carrier *and* a hip seat so you can tote your tot around in a variety of ways from the infant days to the toddler years.

Sally Elshorafa / BuzzFeed

Abiie is a small business in Austin, Texas making stylish and practical baby gear.

BuzzFeed editorSally Elshorafa loves this carrier! She said, "I have this carrier and it's changed my family's life. Both my husband and I use it daily, and it's quickly become our go-to way for carrying our infant son around. It's so much more practical and intimate than a bulky stroller. When he's tired, I'll have him face inward, and he'll fall asleep immediately. When we're out and about and he's wide awake, I have him face outwards so he can be part of the action. I can tell he is very comfortable in either position.

With my firstborn, I never liked using the traditional baby carriers on the market because they didn't offer enough support, or they were too complicated to adjust and keep on. Because this one has a hip seat, it's ergonomically way better — my son's weight is distributed more evenly, so there's little to no pressure on my lower back, hips, and shoulders. And it's great that when he becomes old enough to sit up on his own, I just unzip the carrier part, and it becomes a practical hip seat. Truly a gift that keeps on giving."

Promising review: "This baby carrier will replace all of your baby carriers! My favorite thing about it is the wide waistband. It doesn’t dig into your sides, back, or stomach after wearing for long periods of time. My little one is five months old, and he enjoys taking long walks and hikes in this carrier. He is comfortable, and I appreciate that his hips, knees, and legs are in a good 'M' position. The seat is supportive, and the shoulder straps are comfortable for mom or dad! My little one and I are both very happy with this purchase." —Kaile

Get it from Amazon for $78.90.

11. OR (there are a lot of options here, people) a Tushbaby hip carrier you may have seen across your TikTok travels — It has a ton of pockets for storage so you won't have to lug around an additional bag to hold your phone, wallet, and keys.

www.amazon.com, www.amazon.com

Tushbaby is a small business run by three California mamas and specializes in products that bring a little more ease to everyday parenting life.

Promising review: "My 1-year-old is super wiggly and so heavy. The TushBaby helps to solve that because I can’t put her in a regular carrier for more than five minutes before she gets upset. Using this carrier, I can pick her up and put her down to explore and much as needed and it really helps alleviate all the weight off my back. I use it around the house as well as when we’re out. Very convenient and quick to put on and adjust." —Nadia M

12. Ashopping cart cover to create a barrier between your kiddo and all of the unseen germs lurking around — certainly can't hurt and will also prevent them from, literally, sucking on the cart itself (babies are wild).

Heather Braga / BuzzFeed

I used this cover with both of my kids (pictured above) and am *very* glad that I did. As you can see from my son's first time in a shopping cart at Target (left), all he immediately wanted to do was chew on it — which is disgusting and germy! The cover protected him from sucking on unknown grossness...thankfully. It was an excellent item to stow away for baby number two, and as you can see (right) we're making use of it!

Promising review: "Love! I was in the market for a nice shopping cart cover. My newest baby definitely is one that puts everything possible into his mouth, so a shopping cart cover was a must this time around. It's easy to unfold and fold up. A little tricky to put on the first time, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it. It seems to be fairly padded. Covers a standard Walmart cart thus far. I believe it will work for high chairs as well. I do wish it came with its own toys. I would definitely recommend for children who are comfortable sitting up on their own." —Alicia

Get it from Amazon for $24.49+ (available in three styles).

I appreciate the handle hole in the top, that also give me a place to be able to peek in on my little one while we are out and about. One of my mom besties had this on her stroller and I immediately was like, "Welp, NEED." I ordered one and never looked back — it attaches tightly and can be adjusted to any angle. Bugaboo, Heather Braga / BuzzFeed

I got this stroller ahead of my daughter being born last April (my kids are almost exactly two years apart) and have gotten so much use out of it so far. When my daughter was an infant I used the bassinet seat alongside the regular seat for long walks with both kids. My son had actually been resisting walks in the stroller until his sister came along — suddenly he was interested again and was so happy they could ride next to each other. Now that she's a little older they both can sit side by side and hold hands (the absolute cutest). It may look wide but it fits through doorways without being a tight squeeze at all! I've also used it to tote around my son and his bestie (seen above, left) and they've had a blast. The quality is fantastic (no surprise there) and it comes in a bunch of lovely colorways.

We use this car seat for my son, and it's been spectacular. It was very easy to install (a huge bonus), and he's really gotten a kick out of having his own space to keep a snack and a drink when we're in the car. The harness doesn't fight me when I load my son into the car, and the seat feels very cushy. This car seat is actually designed to last your child for 10 years – which is fantastic! It has a machine washable cover, which I was *very* glad to have after my kid jumped in a muddy puddle and promptly wiped his feet all over it... all the stains came right out!

Promising review: "I bought this as my son was growing out of his infant car seat and needed more room. He can sit comfortably. I love that it has cup holders for his sippy and snack cups. He can easily reach both when he’s strapped. I love how it can adjust to any car and the recline options. And cleanup is so easy! I love how easily it is to take off the covering and put it back on once clean!" —Nicole Cameron

30. Or a splurge-worthy new Nuna Lumn Car Seatwith incredible features that'll make you want to add it to your registry — it can support kids weighing anywhere from 30 to 110 lbs, has nine different reclining options (OK, fancy), can be converted from a harness seat to a booster as your child gets bigger, *AND* is so slim it can actually fit alongside two other car seats in most mid-sized vehicles (which any parent of many will know is a big freakin' deal).

Nuna

It also has 10 headrest positions, two cup holders that can be popped out and washed (WOW), is airline-approved (and FAA-certified for use in harness mode), and has a TON ofsafety features they do a much better job explaining about on their site than I ever could here. I have this seat lined up to move my son into ASAP, but in the meantime, I can note that we've used Nuna infant seats for both of my littles, and I have zero complaints or concerns about their safety.

Promising review: "I thought my 15-month-old might be too young for the Lumn because it’s a harness high back booster seat, but with the under 40lb insert, he fits snug as a bug. Watch a video on the Lumn if you’re like me and don’t want to read the installation instructions. I also recommend reclining it before buckling and securing the top anchor." —Kimmy

Babyark

BuzzFeed writer Mallory Mower uses this car seat for her daughter! She said, "This is my car seat! I was dazzled by its design, as it *looks* equal parts sleek and safe, but I became even more in love with it once I started getting the hang of the app and all the safety features the car seat provides. There were 13 registered safety patents involved in the making of this seat, so you can be confident you're getting a product that has been put to the test and that its design made some impressive steps forward in car seat safety. The app provides "forgotten child alerts" and confirms all areas are buckled safely with real-time movement monitoring. The cushions are adjustable, removable, and easy to wash. We've been taking our 18-month-old on road trips in this seat since she grew out of her infant car seat, and she seems comfortable for hours!"

Promising review: "I can’t say enough good things about the Babyark car seat. As a first-time mom, safety is my top priority, and this seat's sturdy build and advanced features give me peace of mind on every drive. My son absolutely loves it. The comfort level is exceptional and ever since we made the switch he refuses to go back to his old seat. The sleek design is a bonus, fitting seamlessly into our car's interior. If you're looking for a car seat that combines top-notch safety, comfort, and style, I highly recommend the Babyark. Worth every penny!" —Tram L.

Veer is a small business that sells awesome, parent-friendly wagons and other outdoor family products. This specific wagon (which also comes in a four-seater style) has so many incredible accessories you won't believe it. We're talking adaptable beach wheels, customizable colored siding, coolers, fans, and canopies (just to name a few). I recently got this wagon and my family LOVES it. It's so easy to get both kids into (1- and 3-year-old) and they're so happy to go on a walk across from each other — feels more like an adventure! I live in the 'burbs and it's been easy breezy to navigate it through my sidewalk-less neighborhood and grassy parks.

BuzzFeed writer Mallory Mower also has this and says, "I have never seen my husband gush over a product for our daughter more than he has with this wagon. And I'm just as big of a fan! There are *so* many useful accessories you can get to customize your ride specifically to your family's needs. We have a canopy, a cushioned toddler seat, extra storage nets, a cooler, and more. There are different attachments for season changes and a range of ages – so this truly grows with your child. It is easy to get through doors, swivel around pedestrians, and roam around uneven surfaces at the park. I can't think of a more useful product for parents in a city, or families who are often out and about. And, most importantly, my daughter *adores* it. She laughs, cheers, and giggles the whole ride (plus the cup tray attachment means she can snack on her own while we're on the move). This wagon is the sort of thing that makes me glad I'm a parent in 2025. Parenting products have come a *long* way!"
