WP had introduced new star candidates before Nomination Day, including Harpreet Singh who was seen walking the ground in the GRC.PAP had initially announced that Manpower Minister Dr Tan See Leng would anchor the team there, but in a sudden reshuffle, he was moved to Chua Chu Kang GRC to replace DPM Gan Kim Yong—who was instead deployed to contest in Punggol GRC.Punggol GRC is shaping up to be a hot battleground, with WP sending a high-profile team including Harpreet Singh, Dr Ong Lue Ping, Michael Thng, and Alexis Dang. Meanwhile, in Tampines GRC, WP fielded Dr Ong and Michael Thng alongside Aljunied GRC incumbent Faisal Manap. This sets up a four-corner fight with PAP, NSP, and PPP, making it another GRC to watch, especially since Tampines has long been a PAP stronghold.Adding to the surprises, two senior PAP leaders, DPM Heng Swee Keat and SM Teo Chee Hean, officially announced their retirement on Nomination Day itself.
