500 Health Ministry staff join border control agency to tackle disease threats

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Border Control and Protection Agency (MCBA), the sole agency responsible for border regulation and expected to become operational next month, has been further strengthened with the integration of 500 staff from the Health Ministry.

These Health Ministry staff will be assigned as agency enforcement officers, tasked with combating and monitoring serious health threats, including the spread of infectious diseases and the entry of animals carrying zoonotic diseases into the country.
