A 65-year-old man was found motionless at the foot of Block 654C Punggol Drive in the early hours of 3 Jul 2025.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by a Singapore Civil Defence Force paramedic.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received a call for assistance at approximately 5:55am. Police investigations are ongoing.

A blue tent was placed on the ground floor of the block following the incident. Two police officers were stationed near the tent, which was positioned on a grass verge next to the block.

Some tree branches in the surrounding area had broken off. No bloodstains were observed at the scene by reporters who visited the location.

A nearby resident identified the deceased as a Chinese uncle but provided no additional details about the circumstances.

Woman Apprehended Under Mental Health Act After Punggol Death

A 59-year-old woman was apprehended under Section 7 of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act 2008 following the incident.

The Act requires police to apprehend any person believed to be in danger to their own life or the life of another person and reasonably suspected of suffering from a mental disorder.

Based on preliminary investigations, police do not suspect foul play in the death.

The case occurred five days after a 29-year-old man was found dead at the foot of a block in Telok Blangah. A 21-year-old woman was also apprehended under the same Mental Health Act in that incident.
