Right now, you can’t escape Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez,who have been all over the news for their highly controversial wedding in Venice. As many know, the pair confirmed their relationship in Jan 2019 after weeks of speculation, got engaged in May 2023 while on Bezos’ $500 million yacht named Koru, and then they married in a$50 million Venice event in late June 2025. And everyone has thoughts about it, including some A-listers who are calling out the lavish ceremony.

Their wedding is one of the biggest we’ve seen from celebrities, and one of the most controversial. One of the biggest reasons for controversy is how extremely exorbitant it all is, especially during such a turbulent time for so many Americans. Sanchez’s multiple dresses reportedly cost upward of a million dollars, with the hotels being around $900,000, and over a million dollars in catering. That’s not including security, transportation, and entertainment.

Then, there’s also the fact that they rented out so much of Venice, despite the persistent pushback and protests from locals.
