A Fan Threw an iPhone 17 Pro Max at Eric Chou

It has been less than a week since Apple's shiny new iPhone 17 hit stores, and already someone decided that it was… throwable?
At his packed Hong Kong concert over the weekend, Taiwanese Mandopop star Eric Chou was speaking during the interaction segment when an orange iPhone 17 Pro Max suddenly went flying onto the stage.
While the crowd gasped, the 30-year-old froze and then burst out laughing, “This fan must be very rich!”
For context, prices for the iPhone 17 Pro Max start at a wallet-crushing S$1,899. Not exactly the kind of thing you just toss around.
A giggly Eric then picked up the phone and snapped a cheeky selfie before handing it to a staffer so it could be returned to its very generous or reckless owner.
Netizens found the scene hilarious and had a field day.
“Eric, if you haven’t bought the latest iPhone yet, this is your chance to get one for free!” read a comment.
Another commented, “No way a fan threw that. It must be Apple testing its durability”.
And honestly, the netizen might not be wrong.
Chinese netizens have been stress-testing the iPhone 17, dropping it on pavements to show just how easily it scratches and cracks.
Now, that would be quite a genius idea.
