AI-powered construction platform Parspec nets $20m series A
Parspec, a construction procurement software platform, has raised US$20 million in series A funding.
This funding round was led by Threshold Ventures, with contributions from Innovation Endeavors, Building Ventures, Heartland Ventures, and Hometeam Ventures.
Founded in 2021, Parspec uses AI to automate bidding by matching customer specs with over six million products.
The company has reported significant growth, achieving a fourfold increase in annual revenue over the past year.
Parspec now collaborates with hundreds of distributors, including four of the five largest electrical distributors in the US.
With new funding, Parspec plans to expand its platform to cover the full project order lifecycle with tools for distributors and contractors.

The construction industry has historically lagged behind other sectors in modernizing procurement processes, creating a massive opportunity for technology solutions.
Traditional construction cost estimating and procurement still primarily rely on spreadsheets and manual processes, which contribute to labor costs that are significantly higher than comparable industries like auto parts and electronics manufacturing.
Organizations that adopt modern procurement technologies have reported productivity increases exceeding 50% and cost savings between 5-20%. Parspec claims similar benefits, with improvements in labor productivity for its customers.
The $16 trillion global construction industry (with $5 trillion flowing through the materials supply chain) remains one of the last major industries to undergo digital transformation at scale. This explains why investors see significant potential in platforms that can streamline these processes.
This inefficiency helps explain why Parspec has achieved 4x revenue growth in just 12 months—they’re addressing a critical pain point in an industry where manual processes still dominate despite their clear drawbacks.
Parspec’s AI-native approach represents the leading edge of procurement technology at a time when most companies still struggle with AI implementation.
Despite strong optimism about AI’s potential in procurement, a significant implementation gap exists, with many procurement teams yet to adopt AI technologies for sourcing decisions and supplier management.
Key applications of AI in procurement include real-time supplier risk monitoring, intelligent supplier assessment, and automated contract management—areas where Parspec’s technology for identifying products that meet complex specifications demonstrates practical application.
The construction sector in particular has been slow to adopt advanced technology compared to other industries, making Parspec’s rapid customer acquisition among major distributors (including four of the five largest electrical distributors in the U.S.) particularly noteworthy.
Successful AI implementation in procurement requires addressing data quality and integration challenges. Parspec has invested in creating an automated data pipeline that extracts and organizes product information from thousands of manufacturer websites daily, addressing these challenges effectively.
Parspec’s expansion into order management and contractor portals reflects a broader industry shift toward supply chain transparency and real-time visibility.
Modern procurement has evolved from purely transactional functions to strategic approaches emphasizing supply chain visibility and risk management, with technology increasingly enabling better supplier data management and enhanced decision-making.
Real-time data visibility has become critical for meeting customer expectations and optimizing supply chain management across industries. Parspec’s focus on developing a contractor portal with features like delivery tracking and real-time communication tools aligns with this trend.
This trend toward transparency explains why major distributors like Graybar and Crescent Electric Supply are not just adopting Parspec’s platform but actively participating in product steering committees—they recognize that supply chain visibility has become a competitive necessity rather than just an operational improvement.
