Adobe said on May 25 that Asia Pacific consumers are adopting AI for shopping and support faster than many brands can scale it, according to its 2026 AI and Digital Trends Report with Oxford Economics.
The study found that 53% of consumers in the region use AI for personalized recommendations, customer support, and AI-assisted shopping across the region, while many companies still struggle with data integration and data quality issues.
Trust remains a constraint. Some 26% of consumers said the most important reassurance when using AI agents is the ability to switch to a human, while 38% said they would stop engaging if they found out they were speaking to AI when they expected a person.
On the business side, 14% of brands said they had started deploying AI tools across customer support, search, and discovery functions, though adoption remains limited across organization.
The finding come as technology companies including Adobe, Salesforce and Shopify expand AI-powered shopping and customer service tools to retailers and enterprise customers.
