At first, we weren’t totally sure what this bump was… After removal, it turned out to be a pilomatricoma — a benign growth that comes from hair-forming cells. These can be tricky because they may look like an ordinary skin bump from the outside, but underneath they’re often much firmer than expected.Unlike a cyst, a pilomatricoma usually isn’t a sac filled with keratin. It’s more of a solid growth, and it can even become calcified, making it feel almost like a tiny pebble under the skin.
