PETALING JAYA: AMS Advanced Material Bhd has secured the necessary licences to launch its aluminium scrap metal business, marking a key step in the group’s post-listing expansion plans.

The company said its wholly owned subsidiary, AMS Ecogreen Sdn Bhd, will undertake the collection, processing and sale of aluminium scrap materials.

Operations will be based at a facility in Johor with an initial processing capacity of about 17 tonnes per month.

Managing director Keh Teng Yang said obtaining the licences represented another milestone in executing the strategic initiatives outlined in the company’s initial public offering prospectus.

“The scrap metal business complements our existing aluminium supply and processing operations while leveraging our established customer base and industry network,” he said. Keh added that rising customer demand for resource efficiency and sustainable manufacturing is expected to support growth in the aluminium recycling market.
