Aaron Taylor-Johnson is getting in touch with his rugged side.

The Kick-Ass star flaunted a bushy beard and loose curls as he walked through the airport in Venice, Italy, Aug. 29 to attend the 2025 Venice Film Festival.

In addition to the scruffy look, the 35-year-old sported baggy black pants and a white collared shirt, which he left partially unbuttoned. He topped off the outfit with a beige jacket and matching ballcap along with brown suede shoes as he wheeled his luggage.

Aaron’s new appearance appears to be long in the making. When he stepped out in December for the premiere of his movie Nosferatu in Los Angeles, he had a much shorter coiffe as well as a neatly trimmed beard.

But by June, the actor had grown out his locks and facial hair when he walked the red carpet at the premiere of 28 Years Later in Paris. During the overseas outing, his hair had grown to fall in loose ringlets that partially covered his forehead, while his beard had begun to extend down his neck.

Of course, Aaron—who is dad to Wylda, 13, and Romy, 12, with wife Sam Taylor-Johnson as well as Jessie Phoenix Jopling, 18, and Angelica Mara Jopling, 28, from Sam’s marriage to Jay Jopling—has also embraced a more clean-cut style in the past. Back in August 2024, he ditched his beard entirely for a clean-shaven face, which he paired with a close-crop haircut.

“From one look..” he wrote in onscreen text in an Instagram Stories post at the time, “..to another.”

And Aaron isn’t just known for playing with his hairstyles. He’s also known to transform his physical appearance for his acting roles, including his performance in 2024’s Kraven the Hunter.

“I was doing a lot of parkour movements and quadruped movements—meaning I run on my hands and feet,” he said in an interview with Men’s Health in November. “We got through an entire shoot with a ton of action with not one injury. I thought that was amazing.”
