Yesterday, Justin Bieber’s response to Hailey Bieber’s Vogue cover sparked a heap of backlash online.

If you missed it, Justin shared a photo of his wife, Hailey, on Vogue, marking the first time that she has appeared on the magazine cover solo. However, instead of congratulating her on the feat, Justin recalled a “huge fight” that he and Hailey once had, during which he told her that she’d “never” cover Vogue.

“Yo this reminds me when Hailey and I got into a huge fight. I told hails that she would never be on the cover of vogue,” he wrote. “Yikes I know, so mean. For some reason because I felt so disrespected. I thought I gotta get even.”

Justin added, “I think as we mature we realize that we’re not helping anything by getting even, we’re honestly just prolonging what we really want which is intimacy and connection. So baby u already know but forgive me for saying u wouldn’t get a vogue cover cuz clearly i was sadly mistaken.”

Justin’s caption was described as “backhanded” by social media users who called him out for “embarrassing” Hailey and overshadowing her career accomplishment. “why on earth would you publicly rehash/admit this,” one person said, while another wrote, “He could’ve just let her have the moment instead of having the headlines now be about this.”

“i hate hate HATE when men take a woman's big moment and turn it into a humiliation ritual for them,” read one more viral post.

Now, Justin has quietly edited his controversial caption, deleting his lengthy message and instead leaving this string of emojis: “🤷🫵🏻🫶🏼🥹.”

Perhaps unsurprisingly, it didn’t take long before IG users called him out on the quiet tweak. “Not him changing the caption,” read one comment with over 29,000 likes. “Bro thought he would edit the caption and nobody would notice tf 😭 you’re a celebrity Justin c’mon now you don’t have to share everything here!” said another.

“u changed the caption after airing dirty laundry,” someone said, while one more person added, “the caption change is crazy 😭😭😭.”
