Several eateries in MyTown Shopping Centre were closed by the Health Ministry last week. It’s believed these shops were ordered to close temporarily due to poor hygiene standards.
Some affected eateries include:
Ikea’s Swedish restaurant
Beef Roti By Suteramas
Squid Boy
In the pictures shared online, these shops were spotted with the ministry’s red-and-white Notis Perintah Tutup plastered outside the premises. These premises will be closed for 14 days, until 1 July 2026, for cleaning and other work.
In the comments, many praised the ministry for doing their jobs to ensure the public gets to enjoy food in a clean and comfortable environment.

Netizens also urged the ministry to investigate other eateries in other areas like Selayang and more.
Meanwhile, a Threads user hoped their favourite restaurants kept up their cleanliness standards so they can continue dining in those establishments.
