20 May - Hong Kong actor Ai Wai recently revealed that his wife Lisa Chan has passed away from complications of liver disease.

On 19 May, the actor posted a photo of his hand holding Lisa's hand, and wrote a deeply moving farewell message that read, "Meiling, Meiling, I know you are already very tired. Please rest well. Though there are no longer two shadows under the sunlight, though the dining table no longer has two sets of bowls and chopsticks, though we no longer hear the laughter of two people while watching a comedy..."

"Meiling, Meiling, I know you are already very tired. Please rest well. Though your name will no longer light up my phone screen, though Toro will no longer hear your footsteps as you return home, though Weiwei will no longer hear the sound of the door opening when you come back...

"Meiling, Meiling, I know you are already very tired. Please rest well. Though we no longer need to wait for you to get off work so we can have dinner together, though we no longer need to wait for you to finish your makeup before going out, though nothing needs waiting for you anymore...

Lisa passed away at noon on 18 May due to complications from hereditary polycystic liver and polycystic kidney disease. While she underwent surgery to remove her uterine tumour in the past, earlier this year, her condition was revealed to have worsened.

Late last week, Ai Wai pleaded the public to help his wife, who needed a liver donor with O+ blood. However, despite many coming to help, Lisa's surgery had to be delayed due to bacterial infection and severe abdominal fluid retention that resulted in her passing before surgery was even possible.

She was 61 years old.
