KUALA LUMPUR: All-in-one travel app AirAsia MOVE has inked strategic direct airline partnerships with China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines, enhancing access to connectivity between Malaysia, China and the region.

The partnerships reinforce AirAsia MOVE’s strategy of expanding its direct relationships with leading airlines and giving travellers greater access to flights and making it easier to plan journeys between Malaysia and China. 

Beyond flights, travellers could integrate hotel bookings and other travel essentials within a single platform, it said in a statement today. 

To mark the partnership, China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines are offering exclusive flight deals for AirAsia MOVE users from now until Sept 30, 2026 for travel period from now until Nov 4, 2026. 

"Adding China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines strengthens the bridge between China and Southeast Asia, while reflecting the growing reach of our platform. 

"As we continue to build our global airline connectivity offering, our focus is simple: giving travellers more choice and making the entire journey easier to plan in one platform," said AirAsia MOVE's head of Flybeyond, Soumik Choudhury.

China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines join 80 other notable global carriers who has partnered directly with AirAsia MOVE. 

Complementing these direct partnerships, it also has a selection of about 700 other airlines through its authorised suppliers for travellers to choose from.  - Bernama
