PixVerse, a Singapore-based AI video platform, has raised US$60 million in a series B round led by Alibaba, with participation from Antler.
The funding will help expand its AI video creation tools to a wider global audience.
PixVerse reported over 100 million users worldwide who have generated more than 800 million videos on the platform.
The company recently launched PixVerse V5, which includes a new Agent feature to simplify video creation.
PixVerse said its platform’s templates, such as the Venom Effect, have gained significant traction on social media. It was ranked 25th on Andreessen Horowitz’s list of top 50 generative AI consumer apps.
The company is targeting sectors beyond entertainment, including ad, ecommerce, education, and gaming.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
AI video platforms are capitalizing on long-predicted video consumption trends
PixVerse’s rapid growth to 100 million users validates predictions made years ago about video’s dominance in digital consumption.
Back in 2017, Cisco predicted that 82% of internet traffic would be video by 2020, and research showed video viewers were 81% more likely to make online purchases.
The platform’s 800 million videos created and viral templates generating over one billion social media views demonstrate how AI has made video creation accessible to the masses predicted in these earlier forecasts.
This suggests PixVerse timed its market entry well, launching when both video consumption habits and AI capabilities reached a convergence point that enables widespread adoption.
PixVerse’s user adoption success contrasts sharply with broader AI implementation challenges
While 80% of companies are using or exploring AI, most face significant adoption barriers including data quality issues, talent shortages, and unclear ROI.
PixVerse appears to have solved key adoption challenges that plague many AI companies, evidenced by reaching 100 million users across 175 countries with validated demand in over 80% of countries worldwide.
Research shows that 95% of new users typically abandon digital products within the first week, yet AI video generators can improve user retention by up to 60% through engaging video content.
The company’s eight major model releases in 24 months, including industry-first 4K capabilities and generation times reduced from minutes to seconds, demonstrate how continuous technical improvement can overcome common AI adoption barriers.
This execution track record likely contributed to attracting Alibaba as lead investor, as successful AI companies that achieve mass market adoption remain relatively rare despite widespread AI investment.
