Alison Hammond appears to have deleted a tweet showing her love for Prime Minister Rishi Sunak after she interviewed him on This Morning.
On Thursday the politician appeared on the breakfast programme as Alison and Craig Doyle stepped in, replacing Holly Willoughby during her early half term break and Phillip Schofield after he stepped down from the role.
During the segment, Sunak spoke about immigration figures, the new NHS app, and exposed his love for Jilly Cooper books.
However, after it wrapped up, those watching on at home weighed in on what they thought on the line of questioning.
While some said Alison’s approach was more ‘robust’ than politicians and others labelled her a ‘national treasure’, some accused her of ‘fawning’ over the leader of the Conservative party.
‘Could Alison Hammond have been any more fawning over Rishi? OK, it was never going to be a grilling, but honestly, you might have just as well have asked “what’s your favourite colour?” Etc,’ one viewer posted on Twitter.

The day after the appearance, Sunak made it clear one of the highlights of his week was meeting Alison.
‘Inflation down. Energy bills down. And I even met Alison Hammond. What a week,’ he posted on Twitter alongside a photo of him on set with Alison and Craig.
While she initially retweeted the post with some love heart emojis, Alison appeared to later delete it, an action that didn’t go unnoticed by some.

‘Actually hurt that Alison Hammond of all people tweeted a heart to Rishi,’ one person posted on the social media site.
‘Ok no I’m not happy with an Alison Hammond-Rishi Sunak love-in. That’s incredibly disappointing,’ someone else wrote.

The long-time host also confessed that the affair happened while still married to his wife of 30 years, Stephanie Lowe, and that he also lied about the relationship to his bosses and colleagues.
