Amy Yip Reveals She Dated Christine Ng's Late Husband
It's a really weird feeling to find out that someone you know once dated your ex-husband.
And for Hong Kong actress Christine Ng, 57, that was a truth she took 36 years to discover.
In a recent episode of HOY TV's talk show The Wonder Women, '80s Hong Kong sex symbol Amy Yip, 60, opened up about her past relationship with Christine's first husband, Yung Kwong Pui, a wealthy accountant who was 31 years her senior.
Christine and Kwong Pui married in 1990, but just 13 days after their wedding, he tragically died of a heart attack in Shenzhen, China, where he had accompanied Christine while she was working. The actress married her second husband, Kasey Lin, in 1999.
"He really chased after you before?!" exclaimed Christine, who apparently had no idea that Amy knew Kwong Pui. "Hang on, so Mr Yung knew you before he knew me?"
Without going into detail, Amy shared that she was "too sad while facing [Kwong Pui]" and only found out later that he had gone on to date Christine.
"I have never talked about this," Amy added.
When Christine directly asked whether she and Kwong Pui had dated, Amy candidly replied, "Yes," adding that their relationship was "very short".
"Wow, even I didn't know this," Christine exclaimed. "I did suspect it because there were rumours that Amy Yip had probably dated Mr Yung. I thought, 'Those are just rumours. Why would they be true?'"
As if this revelation wasn't shocking enough, Amy went on to share that Kwong Pui "was the one who taught [her] how to French kiss".
"He really likes to stick out his tongue while kissing. I'm not lying," Amy said, looking directly at Christine.
Christine's response? "Sorry, I don't remember anymore."
"But at least he doesn't have stinky breath," Amy then added.
What a bizarre way to come face-to-face with your ex-husband's old flame.
