Ant International, a Singapore-headquartered digital payments and fintech provider, said on September 4 that it had received a Payment Institution license from the Central Bank of Brazil, expanding its local and cross-border payment services in the country.

The authorisation builds on Ant International’s existing business in Brazil through Antom, its merchant payments and digitisation platform.

Antom allows merchants accept Pix, credit cards, and other payment methods.

Pix is Brazil’s instant payment system, designed for fast, low-cost transfers between individuals, businesses, and government entities, 24/7.

Ant International said it also provides cross-border payments and account services, as well as embedded credit, treasury, FinAI, and blockchain solutions across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
