However, CNA’s investigation revealed that nearly half of 3,428 comments on election-related posts came from fake Facebook accounts—potentially bots. These accounts appear to be copying and pasting provocative messages across various posts, raising concerns about possible coordinated online manipulation. The government is now looking into these suspicious activities. While most candidates were busy on the ground, one party made headlines for the wrong reason. People’s Power Party (PPP), one of the four contesting groups in Tampines GRC, was found to have mistakenly placed their campaign posters in Tampines Changkat SMC—an area they are not contesting in. Meanwhile, the PAP team in Nee Soon GRC went beyond the usual by introducing a specific “Nee Soon manifesto”.It was also announced that there will be two political broadcasts on national TV and radio—on 25 April and 1 May at 8pm—where each party will have a set time to speak based on their number of candidates. PAP will have the longest time at 14 minutes, while WP has six minutes. Smaller parties like NSP, PPP, and SDP will speak for four minutes each.
