Archer Aviation, a United States-based electric aircraft startup, has signed an agreement to introduce commercial air taxi services in Abu Dhabi.

The company expects that operations might start as early as 2025.

Archer estimates that air taxis could drastically cut travel time between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, reducing it to around 10 minutes from the usual 60 to 90 minutes by road.

The agreement includes collaboration with several United Arab Emirates organizations. These include the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, Abu Dhabi Airports, Falcon Aviation Services, Etihad Aviation Training, and the General Civil Aviation Authority.
