Autistic man reported missing found drowned in Besut stream

BESUT: A man with autism who was reported missing has been found drowned in the Keluang Kecil stream Kampung Raja here today.
Besut district acting police chief, Deputy Superintendent Md Sani Md Saleh, said the victim, identified as Muhammad Helmi Azman, 26, was found by members of the public at 11.45am.
He stated that the police received information from a member of the public who spotted a body caught in a pile of tree branches in the Keluang Kecil stream, Kampung Raja, near a secondary school.
"The victim's body was taken to Besut Hospital for a post-mortem and identification by the family at 1.30pm," he said in a statement today.

"The victim is believed to have been missing for more than 24 hours after being reported missing on Nov 28."
Md Sani added that the case is not categorised as a flood-related death and has been classified as a sudden death.
