5 Jun - It must have been surreal for Ayumi Hamasaki, who found herself having to explain that no, her two children are not Elon Musk's kids.

On 2 June, the Japanese singer had to explain via Instagram Story that the South African billionaire did not father her kids, adding that she understood the outside world's speculation since even her mother told her that they seemed to be talking about her.

"I will set my image aside and deny this properly because it wouldn't be great if my children saw the wrong information online when they grow up," she said.

Rumours of Ayumi having a child with Elon Musk sparked after author and influencer Ashley St. Clair, who gave birth to Musk's 14th child earlier this year, told The New York Times that Musk had confided in her that he had fathered children around the world, including with a Japanese pop star.

"He made it seem like it was just his altruism and he generally believed these people should just have children," she said.

The statement had since sparked a lot of speculations among J-pop fans, with many pointing their fingers at Ayumi, who has been mum on the identity of the father of her two sons.

It is noted that Ayumi has given birth to her boys in 2019 and 2021, and stressed that they have the same father. However, she said that she has no plans to get married.
