A BBC Radio 4 caller was told off live on-air after they labelled ex-Prime Minister Liz Truss ‘all art and no s**t’.

In the dayssince Ms Truss’ resignation, people across the nation are following updates amid the news that former PM Boris Johnson is set to go head-to-headagainst Rishi Sunak in the Tory leadership race.

Ms Truss’ announcement meant she became theshortest serving PM in history, having lasted only 44 days after claiming she was a ‘fighter, not a quitter’.

On Saturday’s BBC Radio 4, Anita Anand was presenting her show Any Answers?, the regular current affairs phone phone-in programme when she received a call from a woman called Olivia.

When asked for her views on the latest goings-on of British politics, Olivia said: ‘I consider Ms Truss to be a puff in the wind, and she’s all fart and no s**t.’

Anita immediately told her off for her use of language, stating: ‘Oh no, oh no we can’t – you know we can’t use that language on the BBC!’

Despite Olivia’s quick attempt to apologise, Anita continued by revealing they were going to have to cut the call short.

‘We can’t, we just can’t. So we’ll say goodbye, it’s a shame, because you know I don’t mind passion, I really don’t. I like it,’ the presenter said.

‘It’s good, people should care about politics. But we just can’t talk like that. It’s Radio 4. Goodness me.’

Later on, Anita explained that while they had initially planned on running a full hour for Any Answers?, they were unable to do so because they were ‘experiencing some technical problems with the system that takes your calls’, explaining that the system had ‘melted’.

Several listeners who had been tuning in to the programme found Olivia’s assessment highly amusing, with one tweeting: ‘All fart and no s**t has me crying 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 the UK maybe falling apart but god we are funny.’

‘It’s come to something when a genteel-sounding Olivia calling into Radio 4 on a Saturday afternoon describes Liz Truss as “all fart and no s**t”,’ another remarked.

‘Lovely sounding lady (although about to support Johnson, so…) on Any Answers just cut off for saying Truss was “all fart and no s**t”. Most unexpected call of the week!’ someone else wrote.
