PETALING JAYA: An early kick-off at the Cheras Stadium today isn’t going to disrupt Terengganu’s plan of snatching second spot away from Kuala Lumpur in the Super League table.

Turtles coach Badrul Afzan Razali said the 5pm kick-off time in Kuala Lumpur will not be an excuse for his side not to get a win, which would see them equal on points with the City Boys.

“I don’t think the early game would be a problem for us because that’s usually the time we train, when it’s hot and humid,” said Badrul.

“It’s up to the players. They need to be smart enough to conserve their energy due to the heat by controlling their pace and punishing the opponents at the right time to ensure we win.”

However, Terengganu will be without the services of winger Akhyar Rashid as the 26-year-old is still recovering from an ankle injury.

But intending to retain the same players that featured in their 3-0 win over Immigration in the FA Cup on Sept 13, Badrul believes the team have the capability to get past KL.

“It’s not very concerning to not have Akhyar in the squad, as I do have replacements to take his spot.

“I’m confident that they can carry out the tasks well,” said Badrul.

At the same time, Badrul reminded his players to stay wary of their former attacker, Safawi Rasid, who is now a City Boy and could pose a threat in front of goal if there is a lapse in focus from his men.

“I have reminded the players to stay focused and not be complacent as our opponents have a strong line-up,” he said.
