KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara’s international reserves amounted to US$118.1bil as at Dec 13, down from US$118.3bil as at Nov 29, 24.

“The reserves position is sufficient to finance 4.6 months of imports of goods and services, and is 0.9 times of the total short-term external debt,” the central bank said in a statement.

The main components of the reserves were foreign currency reserves (US$105.1bil), the International Monetary Fund reserves position (US$1.3bil), special drawing rights (US$6bil), gold (US$3.3bil) and other reserve assets (US$2.4bil).
