KUALA LUMPUR: Betamek Bhd

registered a net profit of RM8.25mil in its first financial quarter ended June 30, 2026, as compared to RM5.39mil in the year-ago quarter as it achieved a higher quarterly sales volume from major customers.

Quarterly revenue rose to RM79.82mil from RM56.88mil in the previous corresponding quarter, supported by higher production volumes across its automotive product segments, expanding export sales and continued progress in customer diversification.

According to the group, 56.8% or RM45.34mil of the revenue was attributed to its vehicle audio and video products segment.

Vehicle accessories contributed RM24.35mil to revenue, while connectivity modules continued to gain traction and contributed RM6.77mil, reflecting Betamek's growing participation

in higher electronics-content vehicle platforms.

The group said its diversification strategy yielded results as revenue from non-major customers contributed about 21% of total revenue, compared with about 18% recorded in FY26, reflecting ongoing progress in broadening the group's customer base. 

Meanwhile, export sales accounted for approximately 18% of total revenue, supported largely by growing demand from Hong Kong and regional markets.

In line with its performance, Betamek's board of directors declared a first interim dividend of 1.25 sen per share in respect of FY27, with entitlement date on Aug 6, 2026, and payment on Aug 17, 2026.

Additionally, the board has recommended a final dividend of 1.25 sen per share in respect of FY26, subject to shareholders' approval at the upcoming annual general meeting.

"The performance was supported by higher production volumes across our automotive product segments and continued progress in our diversification efforts. 

"These encouraging developments reflect the strength of our business fundamentals and provide a solid foundation for sustainable long-term growth," said Betamek executive director Muhammad Fauzi Abd Ghani in a statement.
