Taiwanese actor Xiu Jie Kai has been keeping a low profile since his military evasion scandal in Oct 2025. So it may come as a surprise to some when he recently shared a rare glimpse of his life.

Specifically, he called out a thief on his Instagram Stories, albeit lightheartedly.

“Can you not steal [my] water bottle? Do you know hydration is very sacred?” asked the 43-year-old.

As it turns out, the Emerald Hill 'Er Shao Ye' was in the middle of a run in Taiwan’s Wenshan District at around 9am when someone apparently nicked his water bottle.

He had placed his bottle on a stone bench at the side of the path, but returned to find that it was gone.

“I hope the person who stole my water bottle can make good use of it,” he then quipped. “Please don’t make the same mistake again.” (P/S: We hope the person at least washed it first?)

He also concluded his Story with some humorous hashtags: “What’s running today?” and “My water bottle ran away.”

Seriously, why would anyone steal a water bottle? Were they really that thirsty?
