SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) - Walt Disney said on Tuesday (Feb 25) that chief Bob Iger was handing off the top executive post after building the media-entertainment powerhouse into the undisputed Hollywood leader.

Disney's board named Bob Chapek the new chief executive at Disney, effective immediately.

Iger will assume the role of executive chairman.

Chapek has spent 27 years at Disney.
