Buddhist monk gets jail term for wife beating in South Korea

SEOUL – A 66-year-old Buddhist monk has been sentenced to a year in prison for repeated violent outbursts against his common-law wife.
The Seoul Central District Court found the defendant guilty of aggravated assault and intimidation.
The defendant had threatened the victim with a chair at their home on Dec 20, 2024, striking her neck with his hands and grabbing her by the hair while drunk.

WTF is divorced, but "remain in a common - law marriage"!? 🤔 So are they still married despite having divorced!?? This totally doesn't make sense, only does in S 🇰🇷 Korea!? Get out of the house!!! 🙄🙄🙄

It's simply a "cult" group.... Exploiting people and simple minded women... Buddhism does not allow monks to have any intimacy with either the same or opposite sex. 🤭😁
