Eagle-eyed observers of the Budget this year, would have noticed that the Ministry of Finance’s (MOF) analysis of government revenue and expenditure report had a makeover.

The pie charts of government operating revenue and expenditure for the fiscal year 2022, for example, have a cleaner look compared to last year’s.

Gone are the white lines between each pie slice. The slices come in different shades of the same colour, so that the pie appears as a gradient rather than a mishmash of clashing colours.
