Bugis Street second floor hit by wave of closures, tenants report 60% drop in revenue
Stomp·2026-04-12 08:40
The exodus of nearly 80 per cent of business owners from the second floor of Bugis Street has left it resembling a “ghost town”, with tenants reporting revenue drops of about 60 per cent.
A reader told Shin Min Daily News that many tenants on the second floor of the mall had gradually vacated, leaving the entire level eerily quiet, like a “ghost town”.
When reporters from Shin Min visited the mall, the first and third floors still housed a number of clothing shops and nail salons with steady foot traffic.

Guess fewer bus loads of tourists from Malaysia have stopped by in the Bugis area, resulting in lesser footfall. They can get cheaper stuff in their hometown.
