Bukit Aman takes over probe of attack on Rafizi's son

PETALING JAYA: Investigations into the attack on the son of Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli will now be conducted by Bukit Aman.
“This is in line with the need for a more encompassing and centralised investigation," Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar said in a statement on Sunday (Aug 17).

He also urged anyone with information on the case to provide it to the authorities.
On Wednesday (Aug 13), police confirmed that the 12-year-old son of the former PKR deputy president was assaulted at about 2pm at the pick-up/drop-off area of a shopping mall in Putrajaya.
Rafizi claimed the attack involved two men dressed in black and wearing helmets.

He said the men arrived on a motorcycle, with one of them dragging his son away and pricking the boy with a syringe.
Rafizi, who is the Pandan MP, also said his wife had received threats on her phone after the attack.
On Saturday (Aug 16), Comm Shazeli said police had obtained positive leads after studying closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from around the shopping area.
