TikTok owner ByteDance plans to spend more than 200 billion yuan (US$30 billion) on AI infrastructure in China in 2026, according to sources.

The budget is at least 25% higher than a 160 billion yuan (US$23.5 billion) plan discussed in late 2025, and one source said the increase also reflects rising memory chip costs.
