I can still remember the moment my five-year-old son walked in on us while we were ‘doing it’. We had been married for five years and had been together almost as long.

We were deeply in love and had never been so intimate with each other in front of our son before.

It was a cold and rainy day, and we decided to take some time for ourselves and have some fun. We were both in the bedroom, completely naked and in the midst of passion when our son opened the door and walked in.

At first, we were both stunned and embarrassed. We quickly scrambled to cover ourselves up and explain to our son what he had just seen.

It was a difficult conversation to have, but we knew we had to be honest with him and answer any questions he had.

At the time, our son was too young to understand the concept of ‘doing it’, and he simply looked confused.

He kept asking why is daddy using his waist to push mommy and why is mummy lying down and lifting her legs out and asked if it is a new game that we were trying.

We tried to explain to him in the simplest terms possible that mommy and daddy were showing love to each other.

We also reassured him that what he saw was perfectly normal and that it was okay to express love in this way.

We talked to him about the importance of respecting other people’s privacy and made sure he knew that it was not okay to enter someone’s room without permission.

We also made sure to lock the door whenever we were in our bedroom after that.

It’s been a while since our son walked in on us, and we still laugh about it from time to time. And we never forget to lock the door!
