Car fire on Penang Bridge sparks major rush hour delays [WATCH]

GEORGE TOWN: A car caught fire on the Penang Bridge during rush hour this morning, triggering a major traffic jam and causing delays for commuters.
The incident occurred on the island-bound side of the bridge, with traffic being brought to a halt in both directions as authorities worked to extinguish the blaze.
According to a post on the Plus Trafik X account at 7.18am, a car was on fire at the Km6.8 mark of the bridge, heading towards the island. The fire department received a call about the fire at 7.04am.
"When we arrived at the scene, a Perodua Myvi was on fire, with damages estimated at 90 per cent. No casualties were reported," said Penang Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations John Sagun Francis.

He added that firefighters managed to put out the fire by 7.38am.
