Cardiff High School on lockdown after 'altercation' outside gates

A school initiated its emergency procedures and was placed in lockdown as police rushed to the scene of an "altercation" outside its gates.
Cardiff High School implemented its lockdown procedures after police were called at 1.40pm to an incident outside, which did not involve pupils or staff, police confirmed. The school said its lockdown measures were implemented as a "precautionary measure" to ensure the safety of those on site. Those involved in the altercation quickly left the area and no injuries were reported and the school was reopened 40 minutes later, once it had been confirmed those involved had left the scene.
