(CNN)Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Carl Nassib savored a "special night" Monday as he became the first openly gay NFL player to feature in a regular season game.

Nassib starred in the Raiders' thrilling 33-27 win over the Baltimore Ravens -- the first game with fans at Allegiant Stadium -- and produced a decisive strip sack on Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson in overtime.
