Leapmotor, a Hong Kong-listed Chinese electric vehicle maker, said in its August 24 interim report that first-half 2026 revenue reached 38.1 billion yuan (US$5.3 billion), and net profit was 210 million yuan (US$31.3 million).
Second-quarter gross margin rose from the previous quarter to 12.6%.
Cash on hand was 38.6 billion yuan (US$5.75 billion), while first-half global sales rose 60.8% year on year to 356,487 vehicles.
Exports jumped 372.6% to 96,294 units, accounting for 27% of total sales.
The first-half profit came after a first quarter in which Leapmotor’s net loss had widened despite sales growth.
Leapmotor’s overseas assembly plans at Stellantis plants in Malaysia, Spain, and Brazil are tied to a 2023 deal under which Stellantis agreed to acquire about 20% of the Chinese automaker.
The deal also lead to the formation of Leapmotor International, a joint venture 51% owned by Stellantis with rights outside Greater China.
The company also plans a September event to unveil a world model for intelligent assisted driving and other electric vehicle technology updates.
